This policy explains how The Zuardian (“we”, “us”) handles personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Last updated: 6 November 2026.

What we collect

• Information you give us: your name and email when you contact us, comment, or subscribe to anything we offer.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, device and pages viewed, collected through server logs and analytics.
• Cookies, if we use them for analytics or advertising. We will tell you and ask for consent where required.

How we use it

To run and secure the site, reply to you, understand how readers use the site, send anything you have asked for, and show and measure advertising.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, email, advertising) and where the law requires. Some providers store data outside New Zealand; we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected.

Your rights

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. Email editor@zuardian.co.nz. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect information and keep it only as long as we need it.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
